A Sunday morning was the most wonderful, and hot day we had in weeks. The sun greeted us very early and after a good breakfast, we took backpacks with some treats and went on a short trip with a car. We parked below a hill and started walking up.
The girls had high motivation, so we started fast. The Mengore hills whole area was strongly fortified with many ditches and caverns. And some remains are still seen.
We didn't step in the dark ones, but we walked around those with the light shining through holes on the end.
We would love to spend more time in cool caves, but the sun was getting stronger, and we had to hike a bit more to reach the top.
The hike wasn't long. Even though we only needed about 45minutes to reach the top the girls felt like they climbed the highest mountain. And they almost ferociously attacked their backpacks with a snack in it. A granola bar, apple, and water just to get some energy for the walk back down to the Valley. Only after eating they had the chance to look around the top.
And finally, the church.
I can say that we all agreed that the hike was a success, and the girls were ecstatic to do something different. Maybe next time a bit longer, and higher walking destination.

It looks like a great place for a walk with kids. I can imagine it is exciting for them to enter those caves. Hiking is probably not the most interesting activity for them but if you have a motivation in form of a snack anything is possible :) And they made it!

That is so extremely cool! I love those caverns and I'm chicken to go in any that aren't backlit.
Well, unless they are public and are maintained.
I find that kids love an adventure like that. Something different with a reward at the top. Yes! Sounds like something even I might respond to. :)
The weekend was beautiful and I can see it is there also. This weekend promises to be even better and we have a kite festival, I am all ready with my kite! I like to go every year and they even have kite battles with the trick kites.It should be fun and a little different.

I am not a courageous human being also...😉 But we managed to see all those where it was bright.
The beautiful weather continued here also. We did a lot of work at home on Saturday, but we still managed to go on a trip today. 😊

It is indeed beautiful day and I believe you really enjoyed the walk with your kids, in this age they are so curious and everything is interesting for them, such caverns are sizeable for them, may be they felt themselves as in fairy tale :) Beautiful photographs
