Beautiful photo, when was this taken? I visited last February 2018 and all there were more ice and hints of blue, but it was very saddening and alarming. Iceland is running out of ice!

    Hi @ericago, I took the picture in the summer of 2016, but I was also there last year. It's really fascinating how the glacial ice varies from time to time, but the overall tendency is alarming. 😔
    Did you also walk on the glacier? I did this with a local tour guide. It was stunning.

    We did do a little trek away from the glaciers because we did not want to take a risk! That would've been beautiful though!! 😊
