Where to hike on Tenerife? In Anaga Mountains of course!

Hi!
Take a look on this photo from Tenerife. Amazing island! On the one hand, an empty, volcanic landscape, on the other hand, beautiful Mediterranean vegetation and mysterious forests in the Anaga Mountains. My heart has especially felt in love with Anaga so today I want to tell you about this place and show you some suggestions for a very pleasant trekking. I invite you, if you like!

The first place I want to show is one of many paths around Mirador Cruz del Carmen. There are a lot of them, they are well marked. As soon as you get off the main asphalt road for cars, you're surrounded by amazing nature. Branches of trees are picturesquely twisted and create a natural roof over your head, through which the rays of the sun are blinking. Silence surrounds you, interrupted only by the song of birds. I swear, you can feel like Alice in Wonderland!

If you fancy a slightly more demanding walk go further south to the viewpoint (the so-called "mirador"). Later, you'll have to climb the ridge until you reach the next vantage point, which is called Mirador Pico del Ingles. On the way there is an opportunity to admire the Teide volcano (about which I'm going to write you more soon). You follow a path among big agaves and big cactuses, so be careful, because you can painfully experience spikes!

The view from the Mirador Pico del Ingles is very extensive. Of course, the majestic silhouette of Teide catches the eye the most. The volcano has a height of 3718 meters above sea level and definitely dominates the landscape of Tenerife.

Near Pico del Ingles there is an extremely photographic place. It's a fragment of an old, now unused road, which in Spanish is called Camino Viejo al Pico del Ingles. It's something like a tunnel that was created during the construction of the road when it was necessary to cut the rocks.

And if the forests and view of volcano are boring you, take a walk with a view of the ocean! This is possible if you choose a route leading through the villages of Almaciga and Benijo. The route is very picturesque. Steep banks, waves breaking on the shore and Mediterranean vegetation are the perfect combination. It is hard not to reach for the camera every now and then. If you hit the right weather, you have the opportunity to watch surfers sliding on the waves. Or maybe you are a surfer yourself? In that case, Playa de Almaciga is the perfect place for you.

That's all for today. Do you have questions? I hope you liked these snapshots from the mountains of Anaga. For sure I will show more pictures from other beautiful places in Tenerife, so stay tuned!
