Not only did we go to New Mexico, we also went to Mexico a couple of times.  We went to Colorado, Florida, Arizona, traveled around and through the East Coast and the New England states, Scotland and Ireland, India, Portugal, Spain, and a couple of Rainbow gatherings.

Traveling with Quinn was very different than traveling with my was-band.  In contrast to the upscale accommodations and fancy restaurants, Quinn and I made our trips together as sustainable, low-key, simple and local as they could be.

We sometimes stayed with family or friends...

Loving the Shin Hotel. We had so much fun and so many laughs with this family. OMG!

...or with people we met in transit who invited us into their homes.  A night or two we shared a twin bed in a hostel, were blessed with several nights in a treehouse at Bilston Glen, spent a couple in private homes in the Huichol Village, a night or two in a hit man's home, and in a house with about 30 other people, just for starters.

But we mostly camped (with or without a tent) on beaches, near rivers, in the woods...

Our room with a view!

A silent, private retreat over the hill, across the creek and through the woods off the bay. The best portable hotel EVER!

...in front of a movie theater...

In the middle of the city, a late night arrival, and the only grass or tentable land was in front of this movie theater. So we pitched it and stuck on this little note that said....

hoping we'd be less likely to be kicked out!

We weren't disturbed, but were right in line for a movie we didn't pay to see!

Our sweet little home away from home...every night an new opportunity for a great view, fresh air, snuggling in the place of our choosing. How sweet this little portable hotel. Free and EVER changing.

...on a water spillway median, tucked under trees in the backyard of a museum, in an orchard, on a crystal mountain, in the wind and pouring rain, under the shooting stars and under a tarp.

We slept on private islands, in hammocks, on mattresses in a backyard, in unfinished buildings, on giant rocks, at hot springs, and we slept in our car or the back of our truck decked out with a mattress and all the necessities.

Packed in treasures from our journey. So much abundance to appreciate. Perfect road trip in ALLways!

We often shared our capable culinary skills in gratitude for a place to stay.

We both loved harvesting so would tap into whatever fresh food and water we could locate.  We'd pack some in our mouths for now, and some in our bags for later!

Harvesting (blueberries)......one of our favorite experiences in which to engage...often!

In the middle of it all...such abundant presence/presents.

He's sharing fresh spring water with me!

Picking our own dinner from a stranger's back yard garden. He was so eager to share the nutritious love he had so eagerly growing. Mmmmmmm....love this Uber Dankness!

Even our trips by air or ground were the least expensive and most efficient we could find.  We used our feet and even our thumbs sometimes.

We spent as little money as possible, which made for quite the adventure.  Exploring the world on these terms brought forth a whole new perspective, which I adored.

It's a great challenge with great rewards to go off into the world with no plan.  Most people have their everyday life scheduled, as well as their vacations.  Gratefully our time was our own, we had no calendar, and we didn't need a vacation to get away from our life.  As did the ease in the unfolding of the details of our trip, so too the opportunities to take off and travel just presented themselves.

Giving up on ideas of how things should be or what we needed to happen, the world was again open for true and exciting possibility to enter.  Magnificent moments happen if we are available and receptive to letting them in.
