Sharing a little throwback while having some time off from creating new content. Tomorrow is workday 7/7 this week so I'm pretty damn tired and I've been in no mood to shoot anything. Sorry for that. Next week is going to be a bit more easy so I'm sure I can get something new (and improved) up.

On to the matter at hand! I have been shorting some old pictures, trying to clean out my laptop. While doing that, I came across some pictures I took when spending midsummer 2014 in Zürich, Switzerland. I suffering from some major travel fever and going through these photos is definitely not helping...

I was amazed by the beauty of Zürich, definitely one of the most amazing cities I have ever visited, though I think I say that about every new city I choose to visit... I stayed over at my friends place situated in the Old Town, filled with little alleys and cobblestone streets. I regret not taking more pictures, I wasn't that serious about photography back then.

I was shocked to see the clear blue water and people swimming in it, definitely was not what I expected from Zürich. I was super excited as I love to swim, or rather just float in the water.

I remember my mom texting me that it snowed in Finland on the morning of midsummer day, and I responded to her with a picture of me sunbathing by the river Limmat that runs through the city.

Until next time and hopefully, some traveling soon ;)

PS. These pictures are non retouched, taken with my old Nikon D60. I think I have gotten quite a lot better since then.

Have you ever just stared at the water, wandering where it goes, wishing you could wander into the singing depths below?

Another question... Are you a water spirit? (I need to find a spirit and a master of each of the four elements, so that they may teach me their secrets and I can then fulfill my destiny and save the world)

I'm sorry to disappoint and tell you that I am no water spirit. I rather swim than sink. The depths scare me a little.

I find it surprisingly calming underwater. I love SCUBA, because you can sit in the middle of everything and just watch it move around you.

My parents do scubadiving and I've tried it with them but for me it felt like too much of a hassle.

Yeah, it is a bit of a process, but I absolutely love being under the water. It's like you've slowed down time and everything is just drifting past.

Great photos and story! Switzerland is one of my top three places I need to visit!

I think you should travel over to Lisbon next month!

Should I now 😏

I believe it's in your best interest!
@roelandp says it's going to be creamy and delicious

Sounds dirty 😉

I've never been to Europe so I can't say it won't be ;)

Well then I think YOU should go 😛

My AirBnB is booked. I'll see ya there 😛

I love Zurich, and going there to see friends. My attorney is also living there as well. I also love old town and the real heart of the city. I spend tooo much in new town with all of the fancy shops, so better to stay there.

I don't think I even visited the newer part of town at all. I always prefer the old towns, so much more beautiful.

Impressive! Please like and follow me too.
Thanx

I love Zurich, too. I've been there many times. It's a very lively city in all seasons, but the place is a bit too cold for me live year-round. Another bad point is that everything is expensive in Zurich. Even fast foods. McDonald may be 30% more expensive than in Frankfurt.

European cities all have so much character. So much of the US is chain stores and strip malls... sigh. One of these days we'll make it over there and if we can find a way we won't come back.

I saw all that water and thought I was looking at Venice for a second. Shows what I know...

I'm sure there are some beautiful cities in the States too :)

I've been to Venice too, sadly no pictures from there.

Oh the memories I have of Zürich! We went there for our graduation trip. At first none of us wanted to go there, as we all imagined it rather boring... boy were we wrong. Back then they had a pretty wild "entertainment district". All cleaned up by now..

OK, of course the city is really beautiful, with the mountains, the lake and river, the old houses and all... but we had our eyes on other... ahm... "stuff" 😵 ..what do you expect from a 19 year old 🍻

Today of course, I can very much appreciate the beauty of your pictures!

Haha, I appreciate the honesty and reminiscing of the teenage years ;D
