The Forgotten Village of Ilatovskaya. Introduction

The village of Ilatovskaya is located in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region. This is the most remote village in the region!

To get into it of course you can, but the methods are not easy. In winter, you can drive by car only by the winter roads, and in the summer by the gaz pipeline (if you can get a pass). Still there is an option to arrive by train to the village of Lomovatka, and from there you go 20 km on foot or ask someone to give a lift.

Previously, the road was made of plates, but in one part of the road (the worst part), some of the plates were dismantled in the 90's and this side of the district was cut off from civilization.

A traveler in this remote village can be interested in many old preserved houses and the preserved spirit of antiquity.

In the village there are more than 20 houses located on the bank of the small river Upper Yorga.

Just an open-air museum! I saw such huge houses only in pictures.

This place can be called the oldest in the region!

In Ilatovskaya, 10 years ago, people lived, now there are two permanent residents, and they live in the same house, because they are husband and wife.

I will tell about them in the next part, but for now a general overview of the village.

There are ordinary houses, but there are five-walls houses and twins-houses with balconies and mezzanines.

There are also destroyed houses, but there are also those in which people come to live in the summer. In the summer, by the way, life here resumes.

The road in the village is cleaned by residents with the help of a self-made device that is attached to the SUV.

In other places you can get only on skis.

Also in Ilatovskaya there is a museum, which we gladly later discovered.
