The Striga river

in travel •  8 years ago

There is a village Striga in Velikoustyugsky district and the river of the same name. We will talk about the river.

Striga River is not big, but deep, especially in spring. In some places, only 2.5-3 meters wide, but just so it does not go, unless in the middle of summer.

This is the most meandering river that I saw with my own eyes. I do not even know how to describe it. There is such a hook it makes a square with a stadium, and between the curves is only 10 meters. A little more and it will connect in these places and flow through a new, shorter channel.

Large water inflicts branches, sticks, grass, which clings to bushes or remains on the shore.

The coast in the bends strongly blurs.

On the dry grass you can see how the water flowed during the flood period.

A lot of riverbed-lakes near the river - it is clear that it often changes the course.

The banks of the river overgrow the willow.

A lot of old dry trees.

Here, a new twist ...

The river is long, I only talk about a small area in its average flow.

There are wide spills.

The old willow.

Another lonely old tree.

In Striga, there are beavers.

Sunset on Striga. In the distance one can see the church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, which is located in the village of Striga.

The church itself is closer.

Well and at last a panorama, can be slightly cruelly processed.
