We were brought to the village of Koskovo in the Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky district during the same business trip in the Vologda region. This place is not new for me either: I was here in 2017. The distance to the district center of the village of Kichmengsky Gorodok is 16 km by road.
In Koskovo (Ploskaya - the second outdated name of the settlement), a stone temple is being restored by local residents.
On the second floor of the temple, unique murals have been preserved on the walls. All this is due to the fact that during the exile of the church there was a gymnasium of a local school, and not some kind of granary or warehouse. The altar was completely closed.
In the photo, those main people who were engaged in the restoration of the temple, sought funds for materials, wrote petitions.
In the early 2000s, the temple was transferred to the diocese. Divine services resumed.
More recently, all the windows on the ground floor have been replaced. Restoration work is underway almost every day.
Women working in the temple are preparing a table for a meal.
Inside, as in any temple, it is quiet, warm, comfortable.
What I like about the Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky district is the love of people for their small motherland. The old five-wall houses are not mutilated by plastic, but are kept in excellent condition.
And many temples are being restored and kept in working condition. Further, the whole journey through the region led me to my small homeland. I would never have thought that I would go to my hometown to work as a business trip.
Beautiful pictures of the temple and the murals.
