Yarunovo. The village without electricity

in travel •  5 years ago

Yarunovo is a village in the Vologda district of the Vologda region. It is part of the Novlensky rural settlement (from January 1, 2006 to April 8, 2009 it was part of the Votchinsky rural settlement). The distance to the regional center of Vologda by road is 92 km, to the center of the municipality of Novlensky in a straight line - 26 km. According to the 2002 census, the population is 4 people.

Can you imagine that in the 21st century there are still such places in Russia where people live without electricity? There are still such places - these are three villages: Yarunovo, Petrakovo and Beglovo, powered by a diesel generator several times a day.

Yes, there are almost no permanent residents here, but they still exist. And since there are locals, and even not in one village, they are consumers of electricity.

In the Soviet years, mass electrification did not reach here. Residents began to leave this bush of villages.

In the early 90s, the authorities invited all remaining residents to move closer to civilization. Even housing was allocated to them, though partially comfortable.

But there were no people who wanted to leave home at that time.

These territories are the small homeland of twice Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Klubov.
The road to the fork in the villages is quite good, but the villages themselves can be reached only by an all-terrain vehicle.

Electric poles are nothing more than a network of wires from a diesel generator going to the villages.

Electricity supply is strictly dosed: in the winter - six hours a day, in the spring - two, and in the summer only an hour a day.

Over the past few years, local residents, together with social activists, have written appeals to various authorities with a demand to build power lines.

Power engineers promised to build the line by the summer of 2019, then asked to extend the contract for six months, and then another six months...but so far nothing has been built.

Power engineers got a lot of snags, both legal and technological, not related to the construction process itself.

There was a need for numerous approvals from the forest fund, from the owners of the road along which the line will go.

Vasily Volkov has been responsible for the diesel generator for many years.

During the supply of electricity, the owners of the house manage to charge the car battery and cell phones.

Fortunately, cellular communication is available here.
