Relaxing Herring Gull At The Beach In Eastern Maine

in travel •  7 years ago

 "It's a Gull's life for me!"

With summer temperatures in the seventies and eighties, it is a perfect day to do as this Sea Gull, and enjoy the clear blue skies, and the remarkable beaches, rivers, and lakes that make up Eastern and Northern Maine.  It is the perfect time to grab the family for a day at the beach. With 3,500 miles of unbelievable coastline, what can you not find to do in Eastern Maine?

Scuba diving can be a delightful, but unique experience in this magnificent state. Shore diving is quite popular, with all the extraordinary rocks, bays, coves, and other interesting places. Wreak diving can be some of the best in this land of rocky and dangerous passages. Before the advent of the sixty plus lighthouses, many accidents filled the waters with wrecks to explore. Many of these can be reached from the shore. Maine has some awesome adventures waiting for divers of all levels. Grab your gear and make this the day you explore the waters of Eastern Maine.

The abundant rocky shores make this also a perfect place to go snorkeling.  While not coral reefs, there is lots to see among these rocky beaches, coves, and bays. Why not grab the family and give it a try?

For those who prefer visiting one of the many lakes, Moosehead is a major dive spot.  Moosehead is the largest lake in Maine and the largest in the Eastern U.S.  You will find Moosehead high in the Longfellow Mountains, in the highlands of Maine.  The lake has  over 80 islands and is the source of the beautiful Kennebec River.  Divers enjoy the shore diving and boat diving is fantastic. There are many dive shops to supply your needs.  These warm summer days are perfect for going for a fantastic dive at Moosehead Lake.

Inviting Cool Mossy Cliffs That Overlook The Sea In Lubec Maine

Early mornings, before the heat of the day, is the perfect time to explore all the exciting cliffs around Lubec, Maine. What an exciting place for a land adventure on the shores of the sea. Cool morning mists coming in from the sea are perfect for those who desire a more active day of exploration. Why not grab your back pack and gather the family for a little excitement at the beach.

Those who want to just relax and enjoy the day can do that too. There are many places to catch a leisurely breakfast, lunch, or dinner over looking the water. Do you no longer have the energy to hike and climb cliffs, that's okay, there is lots of quiet excitement waiting on the shore.

Some Of The Best Lobster And Crab Is Waiting For You To Enjoy

Maine has some of the best and freshest seafood for you to discover. Fresh Crab legs and lobster are specialty dishes that you can enjoy in the many restaurants along the coast and bays. There are also many different ways to cook Salmon to tempt your taste buds. Good food is an all day affair in Northern and Eastern Maine.

Gone Fishing

For the fisherman out there, there is no better way to spend the day than fishing on any of the rivers or bays. If you prefer charter fishing, there are lots of charter boats waiting to take you out to some of the best fishing spots in Maine. What are you waiting for? Grab your gear, or rent it on site, a day of fantastic fishing awaits you up and down the coast and on the quiet rivers of Eastern and Northern Maine.

Is there any better time to gather up the family and head to Eastern Maine? The people are friendly! Adventure is everywhere. The only thing missing, is you!

Someone say Lobster ? I'm in! Maine Lobster no less ... the best

I already promised myself a nice summer vacation next year and Maine and Massachusetts are looking like promising destinations. I love that part of the country and haven't been out that way since my late teens. Enjoy your R&R! That lobster sure looked tasty :)
