Shopping At The Tsukiji Market (築地市場) In Tokyo, Japan
Welcome to Tokyo's metropolitan fish market. Tsukiji Market is one of 88 wholesale markets throughout Japan. There is a separate wholesale and retail side to the market. Tsukiji Market is always busy. In Tsukiji Market you will find fresh foods indispensable to our quality of life. You will see things such as fresh caught fish from the morning catch, vegetables and fruits straight from the tree or vine earlier in the morning, and fresh butchered meat ready to be cooked. Another major item is all the amazing flowers. What is a dinner without fresh flowers gracing the table?
In the retail section of the market sellers sell a little of this and a little of that, keeping with the custom of "little eats." When you leave the market, most likely you will be full. Tsukiji Fish Market is a fabulous place to visit.

My favorite part was the mini side alley diners where people would pull you in with sashimi fish bowls. Fresh from the ocean and so cheap I think those fish bowls made my trip to Japan
