Filipina Travel Guide #16: Coron Palawan Philippines Best Island Hopping Tour (Highlight Tour)

Where doing the highlight tour, a bigger tour that goes to the best locations from a couple different tours. If you only have time for ONE tour this is the best choice. The tour cost 1800 pesos per person. We booked the tour the day before and they said they will search for companion for this tour. The owner was very kind to us and he said with or without a companion we will do the island hopping. If you can try to book a few days out to ensure your tour agency can form a group. Some will not go with less than 4 to 6 people.

The tour was planned just the two of us but on the day of the tour 2 more people booked. It feels like we are paying a private boat. Schedule is more flexible with a smaller group. Less cat herding.

Highlight tour it has 6 stops there's only 4 people for this boat.

1. Siete Picados

Our first destinations is the Siete Picados it's only 15 mins away. They called it Siete Picados because it has seven small islands. Shallow water is amazing a group of fish is everywhere. This place has a lot of different fish and beautiful coral.

2. Kayangan Lake

Our second spot is Kayangan Lake.

!steemitworldmap 11.959111 lat 120.226252 long My Recent Holiday d3scr

There's a long dock when arriving. We walked up the stairs go take a picture from the overlook. There is the best photo spot in Coron. See the center photo below. After some photos we head over the ridge down some recently improved steps to the lake. Water here is beautiful and very clear.

Please use caution around the edges to avoid breaking the corals and cutting your leg. Kayangan Lake is the clearest lake in Philippines, the water was deep but still you can see the rock edge underwater very far down. We spend like 40 mins here we don't need to waste time waiting for the other companions because it's just 4 of us :)

The funny jump.

3. Banul Beach

Banul beach is the best beach in around in this Island, bigger than Sunset beach and Beach 91. We will be here for lunch and swimming. The lunch are pork, crabs, eggplant, fruits and drinks.
They have fresh coconut juice for you. We like it better than soft drinks. There's not a lot of people coming yet because we are early it is advantage having less companions. Spending like 1 hour, we didn't go swimming because we're very full stomach. Very cute kitty and puppy come to beg food from us while we eat.

4. Skeleton Wreck (Japanese Shipwreck)

This skeleton wreck is one of the Japanese ships in World War II. One of the dive site for wreck few minutes from where we eat lunch. We're here for snorkeling and swimming. The fish are many and friendly, they are not afraid to get close to you. I tried to swim into the deep but too much pressure in my ears.

5. Twin Lagoon

Twin Lagoon is a combination of two lagoons that you need to pass a little cave to go to the next lagoon.
The lagoon is hidden by the rocks as you can see on the map. It has shallow and clear water on the way there that makes everything worth it.
You can't find where the boat go because of the rocks formations are almost the same. Be careful on going across the cave it's a bit sharp or you can climb up to the steps and jump. We swim from the boat to go through the small cave to reach the lagoon.
The view and the rock formation is amazing with shallow water. Its only for swimming so you don't need to bring snorkel mask. I like to bring a life vest to seat while on the water to keep me float. I've been here many times, the brackish water makes it hard to swim so you get tired and feels heavy. The tour guide said it's because of the freshwater under, this lagoon has 70% of fresh water and 30% of saltwater.
There's not a lot of people because we are the early birds in every destinations we go.

6. Barracuda Lake

The boat dock at Barracuda Lake is small so you need to tie our boat to back of some other boat then walk through their boat to reach the dock. This lake is bigger than Kayangan Lake. The rock formation under the water is nice specially when the sun lighten it up. The rocks are very sharp, I just don't know how they form like that. This is our last stopped and we are finished early at 3 PM.

I had so much fun in this tour, this I were they combined all the beautiful spots in one day. This tour is good for tourist who has a short visit in Coron. I had more than five tours in all and you can't do those tours if you only have a short vacation. So I recommend this tour package and the Best beaches (Tour B) its really worth it that you shouldn't miss.

You've seen some of the destinations that are already repeated but the pictures are not repeated. I took different pictures in every island hopping tour spot. I tried many tours to see which is really good for just a day trip to share it with you guys.
