Like the popular saying, all work and no play makes Fi a dull boy. After the long travels by road and the successful event at Sunyani, the crew headed back to Accra in hopes of catching a little vacation time before the return to our base in Nigeria. We had it all mapped out, or so we thought, until we arrived Accra late in the night and started on the quest to locate somewhere perfect for us. It wasn't one of the fun moments lol. We wanted adventure and I guess we found her, even though she wasn't dressed the way we expected.

After receiving the reality check that Accra is a more expensive place to stay compared from where we were coming from in Sunyani, we decided to embark on another long trip, this time to somewhere I've always wanted to go; a beach resort! We arrived at our destination late in the night, very tired and very hungry. The rooms were taken care of and some of us went out to get food. Like it has been well documented, our taste buds and the food here aren't best of friends. We couldn't see the beach that night but I silently prayed it would be worth it when we eventually do see it.

By morning, I was almost late for breakfast and as usual the meal only looked so good in pictures. In no time, I was done and was so eager to get down to the beach. Did I mention it was going to be my first time ever? So many firsts have happened these few days! Amazing yeah?

At first, the outlook of the beach was going to leave me disappointed but another plate of pretty but not really good tasting food soon transferred my disappointment away from the beach's outlook. After the meal, we took another walk down to the beach. Mind you, I was also going to swim for technically my first time but I guess I couldn't muster enough craziness to try it out. So to the beach we went and I didn't want to leave.

It later turned out to be something I liked and enjoyed. Looking at the ocean made me reconsider my earlier decision to drop nautical science. You know it’s a beautiful sight but permit since it’s my first time. I didn’t get close to the waters.

I love taking nature pictures over human pictures and I’m happy I was able to take some for the memories. It has been an amazing experience in Ghana, one that I know will continue to remain with me for the forseable future. I wish I could take part of the electricity along with me to Nigeria but we’ll be fine lol.

Hi @fisteganos
Looks like you are having a swell time in Ghana, looking at the pictures alone makes me feel like appearing there☺, especially the beach, i love long walks on the beach. Seems the food looks better than it tastes, please be mindful for your stomach's sake 😂
Please bring the electricity with you while coming back. Safe journey

I'm charging my power bank so I can bring Ghana electricity to Nigeria lol. You're right about the food and my stomach. I've been coping fine though :)

Wow, can imagine the fun you had there. Never being to Ghana but I've heard so much about the city. Nice place, lovely people, beautiful beaches, nice dishes especially their so much talked about jellof rice which you never mentioned.
Hope to visit there soon.

Lol. The jellof appeared in the picture but wasn't special enough to get a mention in the story. Let me just say I wasn't impressed with what I tasted after all the hype. I'll pick Nigerian Jollof any day!

You should visit!

At least it was an adventure.
Funny enough, this was the gist that @adejoke told me. She complain about the taste of their rice, and from the mouth of two or three witnessess the truth is estatblished.
Welcome back.
