Dubrovnik a city in the South of Croatia fronting the Adriatic Sea is one of the most stunning and picturesque cities I have ever had the great fortune to visit. Its old Town is striking with architecture that is highlighted by the massive stone walls that encircle the city. I bussed in to the city from Serbia and saw some amazing countryside along the way, the descent down to Dubrovnik once in Croatia was long and winding but the view more than made up for it and I instantly fell in love with this majestic old city.

Croatia has become more and more popular with tourists in recent years, when I was there I think the country and cities like Dubrovnik were a little bit underappreciated, it was just before the ‘yacht week’ island hopping party boat trips started to get really popular. Me and a mate stayed for 2 nights in somewhat of an AirBnB style set up right on the water and spent our days exploring the city, swimming, enjoying the local food and plenty of local beers at night in the many happening bars that are available in the hot Summer months. The view from the water after diving in when walking around the stone walls is something that I will never forget.

This part of Europe is one of my favorite travel destinations all over the world, the culture, the people, the food, the parties, the beaches, the stunning backdrops it truly needs to be explored to be believed how amazing it is. I am off to Europe this year for the first time in a fair few years so im hoping to make it back to Croatia during my trip. If you havent been all my fellow Steemians it is a must for your bucket list.

Being a Croat myself, i can't feel nothing but thankful for your kind words on my country. Also, I would recommend cities like Sibenik and Split that are also on the Adriatic coast, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks @sports101 i also visited Hvar and Split and loved both those places as well, beautiful country,

An exhilarating journey with beautiful scenery
