Iguazu Falls Argentina

Hey there Steemians,

One of the planets truly awe inspiring sights is the Iguazu Falls, i was lucky enough to visit this jaw dropping natural wonder whilst travelling through South America some years back. The falls lie split between Argentina and Brazil and i decided to check out the Argentinian side after a few weeks in the country before heading in to Brazil and continue my trip up the coast line.

What struck me most about the falls was not only the visual beauty of it was the noise and sheer power that it emanated. Myself and my mate took a boat ride underneath the falls and the volume of water that was flowing around us was deafening. The boat takes you very close to some of the larger waterfalls and quiet scarily only a few months after we had been at the Falls the same boat company had a tragic accident with the boat tipping and a number of people drowning.

Being situated in a national park that is mainly rain forest between Brazil and Argentina there was some also very unique animal life one of them being the Biblis which swarm around everywhere as you walk the first path down to the falls, i actually found these animals somewhat scary. There have also been many sightings of the Jaguar a large jungle cat in the area but thankfully they are located deeper in the forest and not in the more controlled tourist area.

In terms of sheer natural beauty this would have to be close to the top of places i have visited, the visual was quiet mind blowing and the noise and backdrop placed in between two huge countries makes it even more compelling. If you go to South America Iguazu is an absolute must see, i only went to the Argentinian side of the falls but if you have time i also recommend visiting the Brazilian side.
