USA I hate you! - how we made our way through Canyons.

As our trip continues...

We are reaching Canyons.

After already a few weeks in USA and visiting very beautiful natural places I can say that I hate USA.
You're asking why?
Because it's so beautiful I can't help myself by fall in love with it!

If you missed my previous stories, here they are:

  1. American dream is here ! :)
  2. Welcome to USA! NYC we are here!! :)
  3. Bus fixed and we are going to Alaska!
  4. Big trees, Californian sun and Hollywood!
  5. Closed roads, extreme heats of Death Valley and Las Vegas!

Starting our passage through Canyons we first reach Bryce Canyon. Not entirely intentionally we are spending a night here and we’re watching the sunset over the Canyon. In the rays of the falling sun it looks marvellous :)

Our brakes failed again... This time it turned out to be a vaccum pump... We've used our roadside assistance again and in the matter of hours we are back on the road! :)

The following day we are hiking through the Little Wild Horse Canyon, which is similar to Antilope Canyon.

3.jpg

With the difference, that you don’t have to stand in the queue and pay for the entrance.

4.jpg

Next we are moving through Canyonlands we are reaching the views like from the Mars - red-yellow rocks until the horizon cut by the rivers.

5.jpg

Weather so far is in our favour, but it’s really hot. Thermometers are showing more than 45 degrees, so we are not staying here for long. Although we would love to, we couldn't :)

6.jpg

Who watched the Forrest Gump knows Monument Valley. For us it was an obligatory point of interest. We didn’t run this part, but a souvenir photo was taken :)

7.jpg

Next stop is Arches National Park, where we are watching rock arches. Because of the incredible heat we are doing this quite fast and are on our way to Grand Canyon.

8.jpg

On our way we’re visiting Horse Shoe Bend, where distance from the edge to the bottom of the Canyon is 305m.

9.jpg

I saw it on the photos before, and trust me when I say, in person it's incredible! Especially when you see boats full of people swimming down the river at the bottom.

10.jpg

Finally we are reaching the Grand Canyon National Park! :)
On the first day the sky is very cloudy and views are not very photogenic.

11.jpg

Even though, the Canyon makes an incredible impression over us.

Coming back on the next day the weather is a lot better and I’m deciding to take a helicopter tour over the Canyon.

13.jpg

For the whole 30 minutes of the flight I was sitting next to the pilot :)

Thanks to that I was able to see the Canyon from all the angles. There was even a window in the floor by the nose :)

During the flight I also got a chance to speak with the pilot about how it is to fly a helicopter. As one day I want to have a helicopter pilot licence. This sightseeing flight was by far the best experience I had during this trip so far!
Man I love flying :) Everything on earth seems so small then.

So, if you'll get to go to Grand Canyon, make sure to do the helicopter tour! It's well worth it!
