Bulgaria Is Beautiful #14. My Annual August Adventure/ Part Three - Beglika FestivalsteemCreated with Sketch.

After Orehovo, we went to Beglika Festival by hitchhiking. As we left late, we actually had to emergency-camp at Dospat dam for a night. On the other day, we hitchhiked directly to the fest.

Beglika festival takes place at Big Beglik dam, located in the west Rhodope mountain.

The first day was pretty much a lazy one, but at least I got to make the camp place pretty dreamy.

The festival itself is full of activities, lectures and music.

This is how the main stage looked like.

It is my forth time visiting the festival and my favorite moments are not related to the festival activities, but with the moments with the people I meet there. The atmosphere is very unifying and positive.
For example, because during night time the temperature drops and the fire with a view to the main stage was very occupied, one night I went to another fire. There, some people were playing guitars and singing songs everyone knew. We sang for hours and it was magical under the Milky Way, which is visible there. This is a picture of the fire place.

The program of the festival is not bad at all. I went to a music therapy a couple of times. You just lay down with closed eyes and people start to play instruments such as Tibetan singing bowl, didgeridoo, flute and some I even don't know how are called. A session is about 30 minutes and makes you feel so relaxed and light.
One of the music therapies was with crystal singing bowls. During it I made a henna tattoo on the head of a friend of mine, instead of laying down with closed eyes. Here is a picture of the henna tattoo and the people enjoying the music therapy. I just love how the shot came out.

One day before the last one, I bought a traditional Bulgarian dress. It will serve me as a good memory of the fest.
