Hello fellow steemians ! I want to share with you some tips regarding my honeymoon in Palma de Mallorca, that took place last year ( 2016 ).

If you don't want to read the entire article, a short conclusion about my trip can be this one :

Palma de Mallorca it's great !

For the rest of you who are still here, please allow me some minutes to tell you how great Palma is.

Me and my beautiful wife wanted a honeymoon somewhere on an island, not too far from us ( like 2-4 hours flight ) with great, sandy beaches and clean water, but also with great tourists attractions and optional trips we can take.

Our options...

Our options were:

  • Greece, but in Greece we can travel anytime we want, because it's pretty close to us ( Romania );
  • Tenerife, but after some research we found out that it has some rocky beaches and we dind't want that
  • Dubrovnik
  • Palma del Mallorca

We looked for travel agencies offers and we didn't find anything great for Dubrovnik, so our choice was Palma and we are still happy we did the right choice.

Hotel, food, drinks...

We stayed in Paguera region at hotel Valentin Reigna Paguera ( it was the best offer in terms of quality/price ratio ) and we had everything we wanted.

The area is pretty calm, without loud music and stuff like that, but if you like clubbing, drinking too much and staying up all night, it's better for you to choose Magaluf region ( I think it's like 20 minutes drive from Paguera ).

No kids are allowed at Valentin Reigna Paguera, because it's an Adult Only hotel, which may be a strong point for some of you. It has pretty decent reviews and a good score (on Google 4.1/5 and on Booking 8.5/10)

We had breakfast & dinner included in price, which was perfect, because it allowed us to take different trips on the island and then to return to the hotel for dinner ( I think our longest trip was from 9 AM to 19 PM ).

Rich breakfast with everything you've ever wanted from drinks to cold & cooked food. Also, we had different dinner every day and in some days we had a region/country specific dinner ( for example: mexican food ).

I tell you, the food was PERFECT !

Price lists ( ...hmm..I'm trying to remember )

At restaurants:
  • Paella - 8-12 euros
  • Pizza - 6-12 euros
  • Burger - 6-12 euros
  • Beer - 1-4 euros
  • Sangria - 3-6 euros
  • Fancy Cocktails ( served, for example, in a pineapple ) in fancy bars - 7-15 euros
At markets:
  • Water - 1.2 euros at 1.5l
  • Beer - 1-3 euros at 500ml
  • Cheap champagne 2-3 euros ( don't buy this; it's horrible )

Because he had rich breakfasts and dinners at our hotel, we usually didn't eat at restaurants, but a table for 2 costs around 25 euros.

The beach...

Oh, the beach was great ! Full of sand, without rocks.

You can either sit on a towel or a beach chair with umbrella. If your fan of long walking through the sea until you reach shoulder water level, you found the right place. Well, at least where we stayed; I don't know how are the rest of the beaches from the island. See the map below.

Conclusion...

Palma de Mallorca it's great for a summer trip, because of its beaches, decent prices and attractions ( I've not included them in this article because it takes too long to write about each and I don't remember enough, so I don't want to give you wrong information ).
