Every time I am in a new city and I have the chance, I go and check out the local skatepark. Almost everywhere in the world there is a big chance of meeting very interesting people and see some local artwork.
Arriving to Leipzig - Germany from Morocco was quite a relieve. Chilled spring weather and easygoing Germans is great combination.
Skatepark itself wasn't that amazing, but I have managed to get some cool moves in there.
The location makes it up for the skatepark not being that great and the everpresent graffiti is just like from some sort of Disneyland.
Spray paint is literary everywhere, even spreading itself up into the trees.
As usual one man's trash is another's treasure and what lot of people see as vandalism can be on contrary very nice art piece. So make your own decision and don't fall into some propagandist trap. Even though I might have some agenda here too ;-)

You have helped me see a skate park, where my grandkids love to go, as a giant canvas. Lovely ideas expressed, some to my liking and some really scary ugly faces.............sadly a real part in our world.

Obviously not every skatepark is like that and some might as well be dangerous for small kids, but in general I think they are a big contribution to the lifestyle in modern cities. They offer a space for people of all ages and backgrounds to meet and enjoy the moment together...
