Goldrooster in Spain #3 Hiking and ride to Coimbra (Portugal)steemCreated with Sketch.

Dear steemers,

After a good breakfast we went for another this time larger hike of some 15 kilometers. The tourist office advised to take a taxi to the end of the track and then walk back the 15 km to the town Manteigas. This time we wanted to get back in time to join the comida in a restaurant so back for 1 pm.

Here some photo's of the hike.

We walked in a glacier valley and at the start - the point where the taxi dropped us - some leftover snow was visible. There is no glacier nowadays anymore. That was threre 10000 years ago. We walked along the creek so downhill. Easier and you must imagine it was 30+ Celsius normally meaning not many go for a 15km (9 mi.) walk.

We made it in time for lunch (comida) and ordered us some salad and grilled trouts. All priced at 50% of what we are used to, For instance we had a capucino for 80 cents which is 2 EUR where we come from. Two trouts per person with garnish for 8,50 euro and a bottle of wine 11 euro. MMMMMM!

We drove to Coimbra after lunch trough burnt forrests. Some years ago Portugal had droughts and vast areas of forrest were burnt. Not a nice sight!

So tonight and tomorrow we explore Coimbra before we go to the Atlantic Coast.
