Phone photography: Baton Rouge, LA

in travel •  7 years ago

These are some photos I took with my phone while at downtown of Baton Rouge.

The city has some cool architectural features and good food to eat (of course, depending on the restaurant, as some are not that great). Nothing too extravagant though in comparison to New York or New Orleans.

The LSU Campus and the government parks are actually very nice to walk by or spend a nice sunny afternoon.

Also, while at downtown, I enjoyed admiring the sunset on top of the man-made levees at the edge of Mississippi River I-10 near by Florida St. Sorry, I did not take picture, I was so focused on the boats, sunset, bridge and its traffic movement... that I completely forgot to take photos. But it was a beautiful and stunning live scene to experience with naked eyes.

Anyways, here are a few that I took:

I hope you visit Louisiana one day and see some of its original and fun features this swampy state has to offer! :)

Hey, here from Shreveport, Louisiana. I like Baton Rouge and the people who live there. Some of the Cajun food is really good, but I especially like the seafood dishes. And some of the folks around Baton Rouge and make the best gumbo that I've ever eaten. Thanks for your pics and post.

Hey Carolyn! I am currently reside in Slidell. Yes! I love the Cajun food here. Gotta love gumbo and jambalaya! I am from Brazil, so tasting foods like these makes me feel at home a good bit. Thanks for the comment! I will go ahead and follow you. :)

Yes, I know where Slidell is. So, you are from Brazil and your native language must be Spanish. I love the Spanish language. I speak a few words, but I'm not fluent. How long have you been a member of Steemit? Me, I joined in June. I have lots of questions to ask, but I have a difficult time finding anyone to answer them. So, I joined a Udemy course about Steemit and Im able to ask the instructor questions. He answers in less than 24 hours. You may want to sign up for grammarly to help your writing skills. They have a free version and you can attach it here on Steemit (I have it attached now) and it will correct your grammar for you. I love the app. Ex: You wrote: I currently reside in Slidell. You should have written I currently reside in Slidell. Grammarly will pop up and show you the correct way instantly. Even though I am an English teacher, I use grammarly to correct my mistakes...because I am usually in such a hurry to write comments, posts etc. It's easy to misspell a word. Anyway, it's good to meet you on here and I look forward to reading more of your post and seeing you make progress. Have a great Sunday!

Great shots. I've been all around the south, but never made it to Louisiana. I hope one day to make it. Would be fun to check out the rich culture.

You should definitely come visit Louisiana. You may find good original Cajun food at Baton Rouge or Lafayette, LA. Also, make sure you do some swamp tours and if you like fishing or hunting, great place for that as well! And thank you! I am glad you liked the pics. :)
