Get Rid Of Bed Bugs Inexpensively And Without Chemicals Part 4 Make A Trap

In order to quickly cut down on the number of bed bugs in your home and limit the ability of the adults to reproduce you will need to make a trap. You will need the following supplies: a dog food dish, masking tape, baby powder, a personal cooler that has a drink spout, 1 pound of dry ice(please make sure that your bare skin does not come in contact with dry ice).

Directions:

Turn the dog bowl upside down and put masking tape around the outside of it(the masking tape gives the bugs a surface to climb on.)

Put the baby powder on the inside part of the upside down dog bowl. This makes the surface slippery and traps the bed bugs once they are inside.

Take the personal cooler and put the dry ice inside unwrapped. Close the cooler and open the spout. The escaping carbon dioxide given off by the evaporating dry ice will attract the bed bugs in the same way a person breathing would attract them.

Put the cooler with the spout open on top of the upside down dog bowl. Put your whole trap on top of a white sheet so that the bugs are clearly visible as they are climbing toward the trap.

Set your trap up in the infested room after dark and turn the lights off. Your trap will begin to attract bugs. Go in and check your trap every 30 minutes. If the bugs are having trouble climbing up the sides of your trap you may need to kill them with your bare hands. Every adult that you kill is one that can no longer reproduce. As you keep trapping the battle will swing heavily in your favor. If you trap every night you will notice that the size of bugs you are attracting gets smaller and smaller. That's because you are working through the bed bug pecking order all the way down to the recently hatched nymphs.

Once the bugs you are trapping start to look translucent that means they have never had a blood meal. If you continue trapping in conjunction with all the other steps, especially the diatomaceous earth, you will soon be bed bug free! Having the diatomaceous earth in place when you trap will force the bugs to climb through the dehydration process in order to try to find a meal.
