Great day in the Bay, Jail and a unique road!
Hi everybody, welcome back to a day of my road trip in California with my dad. Today we walked like crazy again, I just checked my walking distance of yesterday and it was 18 Kilometer, think we will get close to that again today. We still need to go for dinner so we can make a final push.
Today we got to enjoy Alcatraz and Lombard street! Enjoy the tour.
Alcatraz
We all know the small island in the San Francisco bay. We probably all saw the movie The Escape from Alcatraz?
Today I visited the prison that was the most isolated in the world and in use from 1934 – 1963.

Lombard Street
The other highlight for me today was Lombard Street and it got my conditioning up as well!
The street with the most hairpins turns in the world, its am mayor tourist attraction with around 2 million visitors a year.
The street is build this way to find a way to make sure cars could drive here because of the hill’s natural 27%.

Didn't want to have an overnight stay in Alcatraz? hehehe looks like the sort of place we would like to stay in....NOT. So much history to the prison.
Lombard Street is quite famous and surprised not many others are in the photo or did you successfully manage to get them out of the way?

Lombard Street must be a nightmare to drive in! How much was the entrance fee to Alcatraz? So many people! Do you know when's the best time to visit to avoid the crowd?

tickets are 38 dollars, but i think is always busy, did buy ticket byforehand, last time i was here was 10 years ago with @world5list in summer and you could not get any tickets anymore

18 kilometers in one day! Nice, I haven't had a day like that in a while. I love just walking around. I always sleep like a baby after a day like that too! Great tour of Alcatraz. Really enjoyed the photos. So happy you are having such a great time with your dad!
