China is big! Super big and has many isolated areas, so when you are high in the mountains or somewhere on farmland it’s not always easy to find a mate. The sisters festival is hosted by the ethnic Hmong who love scattered among the highlands in Southern China. In order to meet up and enjoy each other’s company and just bond like real sisters do.
All the visitors, some who travel for days all bring heavy luggage so they can have a real good girls get together, they main event is showing a many silver jewelry they can wear. So if you want spectator of this interesting meet up with strong traditions you know where to go!

If you want to be part of something fun and unique make sure to be there around mid-april so you can be part of Bisket Jatra. This festival is celebrated at the start of the new year on the Bikram Sambat calendar. The main event during the celebration is carrying a huge chariot of the God Bhairava .

Mud Race
Most celebrations I post about are ideal to just be a spectator, but I found you one you can be really active.
So just sign up! And make sure you are in Essex, London in May. The festival is there to raise money for charity and was first held in 1973. Nowadays it grew to an internationally recognized event. So what do you need to do? Simple, just cross the 200 meters course as fast as you can and don’t forget to wear a weird outfit.
The fastest competitors take a few minutes others far longer so just see how you do. Ready to have some crazy fun?

Koningsdag
And last but not least! The best celebration they have in my own country. Koningsdag! Before I tell you about it please be advised that since we had our king crowed the celebration date changed! So if you are still using older lonely planets you will miss out! This year the celebration takes place on Friday 27th of April.

The celebration is all about celebration the birthday of the king. The king will go to one of the cities in the Netherlands to meet up with the inhabitants and will be entertained the whole day.
Here in Amsterdam is mostly about being together and enjoying, you will be super surprised with how big the celebration is. Around an additional 1 million people from other cities come to Amsterdam to be part of the celebration.
Many people will be on boats on the canals and others go to one of the festivals that are hosted that day, but everybody just enjoys drinks and music. If a really fun day so make sure to be there!
