This Situation Happened to @AnaHilarski and I Last Year in Prague.
We had just arrived by train from Berlin. We were excited to be in Prague since we had never been there before and one of my friends lived there. So we had our guard down when an elderly gentleman walked up to me and asked if I need some Czech money. We said yes and I bought 100 Euro's worth.
We then hailed a cab for our trip to the AirBNB. When we arrived I went to pay the taxi driver and he told me that we had been scammed because the currency was Belarussian Rubles which are worthless! So we gave the cab driver some Euros. Later we tried to go to an official money changing center and were told that our bills were worthless. It really was a downer even though it was only 100 Euros.
No wonder why crypto will be huge.
It cannot be scammed since it is digital

This is so primitive. You can swap currencies on the blockchain for less than a penny transaction fee instantly without any fraud. When I was in Cuba last year it was a 13% transaction fee from dollars to CUC and then 13% transaction fee again if you wanted to swap back to USD. Billions of people are under financial oppression around the world b/c of the fake and broken fiat monetary system. People may not feel it so much living in US or Western Europe but their is still a lot of financial friction in the most developed of countries.

Unfortunately, there are just as many scammers appearing in the crypto world as there are in the real world.
I saw this one when @dan was posting about the updates to EOS on medium. https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@gikitiki/how-to-make-usd20-000-usd-worth-of-eth-in-24-hours
There are enough people falling for it to make it profitable.

Bendiciones .

I have only been to Prague once, but I heard that's a common thing there with foreigners. Unfortunately, that kind of "business" will never cease to exist, not only in Prague.
