It's interesting to know that , this place got it's name from an 350 years old temple of shiva, (mukteshwar_dham) built by a king of Tamil kingdom in 15th century. It's one of my favourite travel experience during my stay in haldwani , uttarakhand.

I wake up to a hot breakfast and sweet tea and drive to Mukteshwar , earlier it was also known as muktesar ( acc. to one book of Jim corbett "The temple tiger").!
(If you scroll down and see my previous posts ,you will find a post on Jim corbett.)IMG_20170928_140600319.jpg
After so many turns and twists of hilly roads, we saw this sign board and get relaxed.😄
On the way , my companion himanshu who is a locally of Mukteshwar told me a little about , its history - that this place is the abode of a saint - Shri Mukteshwar Maharaj ji - who lived at the top cottage temple where his samadhi is! IMG_20171012_175904_760.jpg Here some interesting people.😄

After watching whole temple place , I realise this temple complex (tapovan) is a kind of ideal place for meditation .

Now I get more curious and ask him about the major attractions of this town? He didn't replied to me ..just said follow me , so did I and this is the view in front of my eyes....,..IMG_20170928_132140237-1.jpg

Little grass can be this beautiful💚

Amazing tour!
While heading back , we stop for a while as we saw the canvas is set with Himalayas in front , as if the majestic sentinels are standing guard as you meander and play . I putted my heart in the moments , relish , make memories and then back to relax., with a promise of visiting back in Mukteshwar with more friends and loved ones.
Full of memories and nostalgia , I suggest you come and stay a day or two and explore the place more.
So that is my travel story of Mukteshwar.
Hope you steemians enjoyed it.
