From Denmark to China by bike #20 (Biking till the end!)

Welcome back fellow adventurers!
Today the road leads us towards the coast again but still with a lot of kilometers before we can jump into that sweet cold water.

while the coast is in sight, the road refused to lead us back to the water just yet, It had other plans for us...

Instead the road lead us through the dry mountains for a little while longer. The sun never stopped burning and only few places was possible to hide from the sun. The small trees and sharp rocks made it impossible to stay under them.

You can see how my temporary Romanian companions sweat pretty much reflects the sun, I was no different although I had a shirt on. In 34° mid-day sun my body would be toast within the first hour. This road really did make me feel far from home; the noises from birds and insects, the terrain, the heat. Nothing really felt familiar anymore and I'm pretty sure it rarely will from now on.

The road kept teasing us with the coast, but it just didn't turn towards it, unless we wanted to go off the route and bike the whole mountain again. Sometimes we did discuss if it would be worth it or not.

I had to take this picture when we realised that finally the road turned down towards the water and then it became pretty much down hill from here. The roads downhill in Croatia are amazing because there's no sharp turns, making you able to bike almost as fast as the cars without any worries.

finally the water! The feeling of the cold when you jumped into it never felt better, we were both very much overheated and maybe a bit dehydrated, so this was really amazing!

Finishing another day off with a nice cold beer is something I'm starting to appreciate! Especially when I got someone to share it with! Maybe I should consider finding a tour biking partner to travel with? Sadly i think it's few who would spontaneously jump onto the route I'm heading. Anyone? ;)

You look a bit pink in one of those photos, I hope you aren't burnt!

Lucky enough not burnt, just insanely overheated. My skin went normal again after the beer! Haha;)

hahahah bro, you look so sunburned - are you? 34 degrees is too hot to bike my friend...

Haha I know! It's not as bad as it looks! Big part of it is just from being overheated, but yeah I thought when I saw it myself that my face was done for it!
