If you have traveled to Iran and haven't seen Tabriz, consider a second trip, if you haven't traveled to Iran... well, reconsider your "must see bucket list before you die!" ;) and I can be of any help? let me know!
I have traveled to Tabriz several times, work trips, relaxing trips, visiting family members I have there... these pictures, are from my last visit. I hope you enjoy.
Tabriz is a big but relaxed city, filled with proud people and a UNESCO-listed bazaar to explore.
Tabriz is the capital city of East Azerbaijan Province, in northwestern Iran, 620 Km away from the capital, Tehran. Tabriz Bazaar, once a major Silk Road market, is a sprawling brick-vaulted complex selling carpets, spices and jewelry. The rebuilt 15th-century Blue Mosque retains original turquoise mosaics on its entrance arch.
It is an ancient city with a history going back about 4500 years. Archaeologists have found evidence for this in digs near the Blue Mosque. There are many tourism attractions in Tabriz, including:
- Clock Tower and Square; first municipality in Iran, around 100 years old
- Shah Goli Garden
- Blue Mosque
- Arch Ali Shah
- Tabriz Bazaar
- Azerbaijan Museum
- Constitution house
and many more museums and gardens and old houses to visit.
Climate and weather conditions:
Considering Tabriz' geographical situation, it has a continental climate with low humidity (average annual rain fall is 288 mm). It has a modestly warm summer climate and a severely cold winter. In spring and autumn it can be very difficult to predict the weather. so it is recommended to dress warm.
one of attractions of Tabriz, to me, is its restaurants and meals! the food is great, especially Kebab. If you are not a vegetarian, you will definitely enjoy the food.
Also if you like sweet things and cookies, you must try Tabriz traditional cookies.
I will be happy to help you with any information you may need on your trip to Iran and Tabriz city. if you liked this post, please upvote it to help others see it :) thanks
I will post a separate post with images and video on Tabriz Kebab and the cookies.
