10 Things to Know as a Female Solo Traveler

Lovely article, @baliflicker! I can totally relate to this.
Personally, I've never had a problem with being alone and I've never thought it wise to not go places or not do things you like because you're alone. As I've always told my friends, you can't wait to meet a person who enjoys doing the same things as you...you have to go out there and do them. Don't spend your life waiting.
And yes, it is so annoying when strangers assume you're desperate for company. I've actually had to pretend I'm meeting someone or that I have momentarily become separated from a friend, so that they leave me the hell alone.

And definitely, some of my most beautiful memories were achieved by my traveling. It's addictive and I would not give it up.
I count the minutes to my next get-go.

Keep up the good work :)

thank you so much. It took me a while until I realized that I am totally fine on my own... and that I am comfortable being alone. I actually wear a ring most of time pretending that I have a husband:D very helpful when you want to get rid of unwanted company

I never thought of that one, might try it in the future.
It's silly, but I feel like the people who are fine by themselves are considered aliens today...Like you must want company. Why? I like me.
