Travel Photo Diary 14: Inside the Colosseum

Rome is filled with locations begging to be toured and you can spend hours strolling the streets with ice cream in hand. Unlike its counterparts from ancient civilisation, the city is full to the brim with as many tourists as locals. It’s extremely busy and can unfortunately cause many of the landmarks to be very overcrowded. We waited in a queue for about thirty minutes but it was absolutely worth it with the winter sun shining down on such an incredible piece of history. For those who don't know, The Colosseum was the largest amphitheatre of the Roman Empire. Being able to seat approximately 50,000 spectators, it was the premier venue for bloody gladiator combat.
