After having a good night rest in a Banff hostal I decided to rent a bike and went to Canmore (23 Km from Banff and almost flat route)...I was a bit tired to go hiking and wanted to be in a less touristic environment. Canmore is smaller and the surroundings are as beautiful as they are in Banff.
Going by bike allowed me to easily stop each time I spotted something interesting! In this case is the Cascade mountain in the background.
...or the deer
...or the resting/relaxing area.
Once in Canmore I went directly to the Bow river to have lunch sit in a rock. This is the same river flowing through Banff.
The emblematic Three-sisters mountains in Canmore.
Before arriving to Banff I took a detour to the Cascade Ponds (just 15 mins from the town). A family place to stroll without thinking about anything...
...and back to Banff just in time for the sunset spectacle!
In the next days the last post of this wonderful trip to the West: Hike to Sulphur mountain.
Thanks!
