Travel with me - jetskiing to a Secluded Island in Fiji 🌴

As you might know by now, I am in love with the island life! I am always excited to explore new unique exotic islands around the world! One of my favourite adventures has been my trip to Fiji islands.

In Fiji there's a chain of islands called Mamanucas chain that form an emerald and turquoise islands so perfect they are like out of a dream. One of them in particular may be familiar to you: Monuriki is the island where Tom Hanks was marooned in the movie Castaway. Monuriki is a stunning secluded uninhabited island, with a pristine white sandy beach and swaying palm trees.

When we arrived there, there was not a single other person on this island, it felt like a complete private paradise!

While there are a few different ways to get to the island, we chose to get there by a jet ski! We stayed on an island called Torteriki which is about an hour away from this place. I’d been on a jet ski a few times, but never out in open-ocean on my own jet ski going at speeds of up to 70 kilometres an hour. It was quite an adventure! I tried not to think about the sharks too much and enjoy the ride :)

Once on the island we wasted no time exploring the palm-fringed shores above water, and snorkelling the coral reef below the surface. This is definitely one deserted island you won’t mind being stranded on.

Monuriki Island is also knows as one of only three islands in the world where the endangered Fiji Crested Iguana lives.

The local people in Fiji are some of the friendliest you will ever meet.
