“Passion knows no language” is a well known cliché but a Passionate, ignited one knows all the languages, when it comes to Travelling. Another journey of 3 days will become the most memorable ones, who thought? Let’s relive those moments through Reading & Writing.
Ever since we entered corporate, we hear key to productivity is Planning. OK. But mind you, key to an awesome Trip is “Failing to Plan & just going on instincts.” Execute my words & I assure you won’t regret. So our unplanned trip was another novel experience.
Three Sightseers set off using Google Maps to cross Delhi but luxuriant Delhi befuddled even Google (LOL). Anyhow full fuel tank helped us to get ‘Delhi’ out of sight. Road rules & regulations were flashing in the back of my mind. But then I reminded myself “Fuck road rules” & let ‘My life, my rules’ take over.
Just over 100 km, got a Booty call for rest. Knowing that ‘Hips don’t lie’, we decided to sojourn at city called ‘Rampur’. It was Vaishno Dhabha that offered sumptuous food; we usually had in Murthal during our trip. Afresh from food & rest, we hopped on our bikes and resumed. Our legs forgot ‘brakes’ for a while & raced at full throttle. Now I wonder if it was the hangover of ‘excitement’ or ‘food’. We crossed another flooded city of UP in nick of time as we were relentlessly unstoppable.
Willy-nilly the speeds of our bikes plummeted to 20Kmph from 110Kmph as we rushed to Haldwani after signing out from Rudrapur. The moment we entered Haldwani, temperature started slipping down while Excitement meter shot up as we were closing in. Again it was time to entertain “BUMACHE”. We relished Street food with a promise to not halt before Nainital. When my eyes reached Speedometer, it winked 110Kmph. We betrayed Speedometer’s ego and decided to slow down & bask in the weather. As we sauntered on the plain road replete, mountains flashed past us. It was amazing to speed on a slithering road with sharp turns. But then realized “Discretion is the better part of valor” and we slowed down, cautious of any mishap.
It was unexpectedly cold for 10 Oct, pushing us to embrace Jackets. After crossing each puzzling curve we finally reached the lakes valley Nainital. Quickly we booked a hotel and restored our batteries and set out for Mall road around 8 pm. The chilly wind, sprawling decorative lights and observing delighted people was incredibly inexplicable experience. Photography session couldn’t go long due to rainy night. Then, we made a beeline to restaurant to eat and have little Drinks. Lots of new things take place in every trip, we met few people beside our room. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I say they became our fans. Hearing our story that how we decided and travelled till here left them clueless in admiration.
On early 11 October morning, we got down the road on bikes. None of the shops were opened and there was an eerie silence when we started. En route to Dehradun we observed varieties of roads, circuitous roads and straight roads. Racing through Trees make you feel close to nature. Let me illustrate it through a funny analogy -Our bikes running like in a video game and the roads also similar to that. (Remember Roadrash game!!)
When we reached Haridwar, took pause at HAR KI PAUDI and when we continued it was 3pm.
As we resumed, we were back to the coveted 100kmph. Had Lunch in Dehradun and as we got out of the city Himalayas, cold breeze began. We reached Mussoorie within an hour and it triggered Hotel-hunt. We arranged one and went to Mall road after little refreshment.
It was the best Mall road; I ever came across in my life- previously visited in Manali, Gangtok, Shimla. Binged on vegetarian Punjabi food and got customary drinks. Then we took some gifts for our families. Such incredible experience ignites our passion to remain travelers.
We slept early that night cause of tiredness. Next day at 6am we rushed towards KAMPTEY Fall.
After having breakfast there we were en route to Ponta sahib, Yamunanagar , Kurukshetra and then back to Delhi.
Detailed Sequence is as follows-:
New Delhi -> Moradabad -> Rampur ->Rudrapur -> Haldwani ->Nainital ->Ramnagar ->Kashipur -> Dhampur ->Nagina ->Haridwar ->Rishikesh ->Dehradun ->Mussoorie ->Kampty->Dakpatthar -> Ponta sahib -> Yamuna nagar ->Kurukshetra -> New delhi
