A day at the beach in the middle of Germany

The Franconian Lake District

These pictures were taken at the lake "Großer Brombachsee". It is one of several big lakes close to where I live.
The lakes were created as part of a large water-management project, they ensure water supply to the whole region.

Diese Bilder entstanden am "Großen Brombachsee", einem von mehreren großen Seen in meiner direkten Nachbarschaft. Die Seen entstanden als Teil eines großen Projektes zur Wasserversorgung und stellen selbige für die gesamte Region sicher.

Landscape

Franconia is a wonderful region located in Bavaria, Germany, with spectacular mountains and hills, called "Franconian Switzerland", beautiful lakes and rivers, I love to live here.
The region is very famous for its lovely climbing spots, caves, food, and of course, the beer. Here's the highest density of breweries throughout Germany.

Die Landschaft

Franken ist eine wundervolle Region in Bayern, mit spektakulären Bergen und Anhöhen, der sogenannten "Fränkischen Schweiz", wunderschönen Flüssen und Seen, ich liebe es einfach, hier zu leben.
Die Region ist berühmt für ihre besonderen Kletterfelsen, Höhlen, Essen, und natürlich das Bier. Hier ist die größte Brauereidichte in ganz Deutschland.

The Devil's Cave in Pottenstein

This cave is the longest cave in Germany. It's one of more than 1,000 caves in Franconian Switzerland and the largest in the region. It is breathtaking.

Diese Höhle ist die längste in Deutschland. Sie ist eine von mehr als 1000 Höhlen in der Fränkischen Schweiz und die größte von ihnen. Sie ist atemberaubend.

There are many, many more very beautiful and interesting places in Franconia. If you're ever visiting Germany, you should definitely stop here for a visit. You won't regret it ;)

Es gibt noch viele weitere wunderschöne und interessante Orte in Franken. Wenn ihr mal in die Ecke kommt, bleibt doch für einen kurzen Besuch, ihr werdet es nicht bereuen ;)

            Really pretty there! I can trace my ancestry on my mom's side back to Germany, but have never visited. And...I love caves! I have only been in a cave system once, but I was entranced with the unique atmosphere. thanks for showing us your part of the world :)

              Germany is indeed a very beautiful country. I love it. A few years ago I met a Belgium couple on holidays and they said they'd been going to Germany for holidays for about 20 years. They said "here, you have everything, from the alps to the sea, just a few hundred kilometers, we never would want to go anywhere else".
              The cave from my pictures is stunning. It is huge! If you ever get the chance to visit it, I am sure you would like it.
