Hanami (Cherry Blossom Party / Kirschblütenfest)

When I arrived in Japan, the cherry blossom was already in full swing. You hear everywhere that this is a wonderful time in Japan when the cherries are in bloom, but seeing it was breathtaking.

In Animes you can often see cherry blossoms like snowflakes falling from the trees and being carried by the wind through the air. However, I would have expected that this is an idealized motive, but no, that's exactly what you can imagine.

But the beauty of nature is not the only cool thing at this time of year. Under the trees, the Japanese then celebrate namely "Hanami", which is composed of "hana", blossom, and "mi-ru", meaning, that means as much as flower-looking. There is a lot behind that. Because, as it seems to me, all Japanese are having a picnic in a beautiful park and eating and drinking together in the cozy atmosphere.

It is a pity that this time is now over.

Als ich in Japan angekommen bin, war die Kirschblüte schon in vollem Gange. Man hört überall, dass das eine wunderschöne Zeit in Japan ist, wenn die Zierkirschen blühen, aber es zu sehen war dann doch atemberaubend.

In Animes sieht man ja oft Kirschblüten wie Schneeflocken von den Bäumen fallen und vom Wind durch die Luft getragen werden. Allerdings hätte ich erwartet, dass es sich dabei um ein idealisiertes Motiv handelt, aber nein, genau so kann man sich das vorstellen.

Aber die Schönheit der Natur ist nicht das einzige Coole zu dieser Jahreszeit. Unter den Bäumen feiern die Japaner dann nämlich „Hanami“, das setzt sich zusammen aus „hana“, Blüte, und „mi-ru“, sehen, bedeutet also so viel wie Blüten-angucken. Dahinter steckt aber einiges. Denn wie mir scheint alle Japaner machen dabei ein Picknick in einem schönen Park und essen und trinken zusammen in der gemütlichen Atmosphäre.

Da ist es direkt schade, dass diese Zeit jetzt zu Ende geht.
