So late January, I was in Siargao. It's an island in the Philippines, around an hour away from Cebu. Siargao is getting great rep about it being the next hot thing because of it's great beaches and waves for surfers. The island also has great tourist area where you can get the best pizza in the country. I'm kidding you not, I ate 3 pizza for dinner in that island!
See this beautiful pizza from Kermit's.
Anyway, I believe that everyone should go to Siargao because it's waves are great. I surfed two times but I still want more time. I'm not a pro and I still need an instructor beside me cos I'm paddling like a tired puppy, but hey, I can stand on the board (unfortunately, I don't have any picture to prove my claim).
However, I noticed that due to the increased popularity of the island, it's getting a little crowded there. Even the hostel we stayed in are fully booked every single night. And I was there for 7 days. It seems like it's a long time but it really isn't that long. Every night, there was a party going on and the local knows the "bar/club of the night" hahaha it was really cool.
On my last day there, I was already planning my next visit. I love to have a property there. Maybe on the northern part of the island where the beaches are pristine.
Leaving my random pictures during that trip.
The famouse Cloud 9 boardwalk
I was in the island for the super blood blue moon and this is the sunset that day.
Artwork at Cafe Loka. We hangout here while waiting for the waves at Cloud 9
We bought pan de coco (bread with sweet coconut jam) from Ate and it was freshly cooked using those makeshift pugon (oven). She uses the coconut husk to make fire.
