The Impressive New Apple Park Visitor Center

in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

It took Apple more than ten years, five billion dollars to construct its new "spaceship" campus in Cupertino, California.  While visitors are not allowed in main buildings, the Apple Park Visitor Center offers a rooftop view and AR experience of the "spaceship".

Visitors are lined up to get one of those iPads to view the campus model, with AR.

The model looks empty itself, but this is what it looks like when using an iPad. You can interact with the AR software, lift the "roof", see the "car" moving and "people" walking.

The augmented reality actually presented the Apple Park better than any physical model can do. It allows the audience to pull up the roof to see what's inside. That's pretty cool.
But I think this is the application where VR would be better than AR. Just image how cool it would be if you can walk up to Apple engineer's desk and see them creating the amazing code that would slow down old iPhones.
