Interesting read.. I would definitely think this could be a hit if managed well. I have two thoughts that come to mind, though:
People that submit reviews/content on sites like TripAdvisor know what they are getting into. From my own experience, the content is usually submitted by people who want to ruin the reputation of a given place for having a bad experience, or others who want to help out as a gesture of good will. I personally leave comments (only when I have something good to say) about a hotel I stayed at because I know I benefitted from reading the reviews myself. My initial concern is that incentivizing with tokens could potentially be exploited. Sites on the blockchain like Steemit work well because other than having incentives by means such as STEEM or better privacy than other social media platforms, the posts that are reviewed by peers can clearly show whether or not someone is posting just to try and cash out on as much as benefits as possible. I'm not entirely sure how a peer review system would be able to look through a hotel review submission and know whether or not the publisher is just trying to earn as many tokens as possible. Given that the submissions are reviews (opinions), wouldn't the window to take advantage of benefits be too open?
This is a bit premature as I don't think the site is live yet, but management should be doubling down on exposure as much as possible. Explosive growth is a common element among many blockchain-based tech I've seen in the last year, but this kind of technology would really only thrive if you can appeal to travelers of all ages. Before posting this I showed Explorio to my older cousin (who is an avid TripAdvisor user, she submits a lot of reviews) and her initial thoughts were "Sounds great but I don't know about this blockchain thing". I obviously know she doesn't speak for every person in their 50s but from what I see the missing element to attract older travelers/users would be making the UI as friendly and easy to understand as possible.
Just my opinions, but would love to hear what everyone else thinks?
Great input! May I ask what’s your background and skill set? Maybe we could work somehow together, feel free to join our telegram and get in touch

Hi - sure, my background is mostly focused on sales and administration. I'm currently working as an associate in Investor Relations for an investment advisor.
I'm pretty new to Steemit, but if you could direct me to your telegram I would be more than happy to provide my input wherever it may be helpful!
