Cambodia, not often the most prioritised Asian holiday destination on one’s itinerary, is in fact a magical magical place. I arrived there on the 30th November alone and headed straight to Siam Reap, which is truly the heart of Cambodia.
Siam Reap is home to Ankor Wat and all the other jaw dropping temples, and just an hours plane ride from the capital Phnom Penh. You can also catch a bus from Phnom Penh to Siam Reap but it takes a whopping 9 hours. A taxi will cost you around $120US, a ride of about 7 hours. Not really ideal for me :(.
Cambodia is one of the most untouched and unwesternised Asian countries that I have been to. Even the capital is quite untouched. Siam Reap itself is simply a majestic place. The locals are super friendly, everything is cheap, and the city is reasonably safe. Its very humble in general.
So today I will share with you my photographs of Ankor Wat, the largest religious monument in the World.
Needless to say, I was dumbfounded by the sheer vastness of it, the saturated historic remnants on every turn I made through this amazing grand temple. I must admit there were too many tourists to my liking, but what can you do :)?
