HOME IS WHERE YOU PARK IT... Southern Utah

This is home for the week. I'm about 12 miles outside of Bryce Canyon and it's beautiful and wonderful temperature up here in the high country.

Good Temperature for me means not too hot and just right for sitting outside on the chair reading and inside working on the computer. I am a bit uncomfortable in the airstream if it gets to far above 80 degrees and I don't want to have to use the A/C/

AIRSTREAM LIFE

I've been in this airstream for just about 5 years now. I got it for a photo project where I went on the road for over a year to all 50 states photographing religious buildings.

That trip was go go go and not a lot of time for relaxation or computer work... And honestly haven't done a ton of trips like this week where I just go somewhere nice and work there when I'm parked at a house. Last year I did it at the Valley of the Gods, up on a mountain above Utah lake and up in the Uintas for a week or so. I think I need to do it some more.

And each day this week some awesome clouds seem to roll past which is wonderful.

Like I said one of the perks of working out on the road is that after a bunch of hours on the computer I can just step outside and site in my awesome chair and relax or read. Though often I'll take the truck for a drive and explore some more. (I did that yesterday... i'll share that soon)

My View: Often i look for a more shady spot... but the weather is fine and I love having such a wide open view right outside the door. There's been plenty of animals hanging out in the field.

The first night my neighbors complemented me on how much the airstream/tacoma combo seem to match. It has a nice style they thought. Usually people just obsess over the airstream and ask how old it is. But I liked how they thought about how certain rigs seem to fit with eachother and the occupants... and some don't.

So which of these pictures best shows off what I'm talking about? (Gotta post a pic to instagram or something)

Great pictures! I love that area, especially around Red Canyon, Casto Canyon, and Tropic Reservoir. Great place to go camping and biking.

Woah!! You really do know the area. Castro Canyon is pretty cool and is not too far from me. Can't say i've been over to the reservoir yet. Not sure where that is.

Yeah, I've spent a lot of time over in that area. Tropic Reservoir is just over the hill west of Bryce Canyon, but you get there by going south on a dirt road on highway 12, starting 3 miles west of the turn off to Bryce Canyon. There is a nice campground next to Tropic Reservoir called Kings Creek that is nice when you don't want to dry-camp. Powell Point is also definitely worth the drive and is really close to where you are.

I just have to make sure i have cell phone because I have to keep working. But i'll look for it on the map. Thanks

I think 2 but 5 is ok , It shows that you are enjoying it and 7 well 7 has an empty chair.
Always liked the wide open areas. Great sky views. That must have been one great adventure. I have always been drawn to old buildings. churches are awesome to. We here at Lawtey have a old church. Dates back to the late 1800's. lawtey church.jpg I can remember when they had the stain glass windows replaced with these, when I was a child.

I was trying to see if I drove through Lawtey... not sure that I did. Florida is a big place... i was there for a while but missed more than I saw. haha

I can guarantee you that if you took 301 south. Then you went through the small one red light town called Lawtey. It sets between the big town of Jacksonville and the college town of Gainesville. Florida has many old places and churches. Not to mention the old cemeteries.

Some set way back in the woods and are abandoned. Some are just markers of people forgotten. It would be nice if someone could take pictures and bring those old places back to life or at least document them.

Nice!

Looks great. I need to get my tiny home built and join you!

Someone just needs to buy the land! haha

Those skies are incredible!

Thanks... I thought so as well. Did you see the skies later on in the sunset?

I have been in 26 states in the USA and Utah is my favourite one. There is so much to see, especially in the area around Page!

Yeah that's a great area for sure... sadly a bit too hot for me right now... but I love going down there fall through spring.

I have only been in the States in summer, so spring or fall would be a nice experience for the next time.

I like #6. But then again, I do like to show solitude without any distractions. ;-)

Nice. I need a week like that to get though my editing backlog!

I'm feeling envious!! Very nice!!!

Haha thanks... i'm having to leave tomorrow ... but i'm headed to Zion for a big hike.

Wow, where do you find your energy!?! : )
Sounds fun, enjoy but not before your last R&R day!
