Vacation to Maui - Day 1

What's up Steemians?!

What a day. Both of us were up since about 4:00AM, our flight was supposed to take off at 7:30AM but was delayed about an hour. I'm so glad I purchased these Active Noise Cancelling headphones, there must have been a dozen families with small children on board and I didn't hear a single one all flight long. If you travel often and don't already have a pair you should definitely look into some. I did a quick review here if anyone is interested.

At the airport bright and early

As soon as we landed in Maui we grabbed our rental car and headed to a place called Da Kitchen near the airport. Both of us were starving cause we didn't eat all day, all we had was a coffee in the morning. We ended up ordering way more than we could finish.

The pictures do not do this place justice in terms of portion size, the loco moco could feed a family of 4. The food was tasty I would definitely go back.

After eating my way into a coma we hit the road. The place that we are staying was about an hour from the airport. It wasn't too far in mileage but took a while cause of the single lanes and traffic. The drive was beautiful though. The majority of it was along the coast. I wish we got some pictures of the ride but the median was in the way of any photo we attempted while driving.

As soon as we arrived at the house we dropped our bags off and we hit the beach to catch the last hour of sunshine and the sunset.

It's been a long day but I'm so glad we're finally here and settled in. We're both exhausted right now so we're going to sleep early and attempt to wake up tomorrow super early and catch the sunrise at Haleakala. The plan is to post a blog everyday during this trip, but I think I'll get my girlfriend to do tomorrow's :)
