My trip to China / Third and last day in Beijing #Part 4

in travel •  7 years ago

Dear Steemians,

Today I would like to feature the 3rd and last Day of the stay in Beijing prior taking the train to Pingyao Town.

Below you will find pictures of the last Imperial Palace we had the opportunity to visit in Beijing, as you can see the momuments are grand and there are a lot of visitors there.

Before we get to the visits in themselves I owe you answers to the question of the previous post related to the Temple of clocks and drums.

Answer to question of part 3:

  • The drum temple, better said drum tower, was initially built for music and was then used to give the time. It has become a tourist attraction.
  • The clock temple, called clock tower, has the purpose to give the time.

Tiān Tán (The Temple of Heaven):

This site is very prestigious and where the Dynasty Ming and Qing came to practice their rituals. When you are their you really feel the importance of both Dynasties in the Chinese Civilization.

Below weirdo will always appear during the journey ;-) The path from the entrance to the temple is very long. We were not there early enough. If we were we might had a chance to be in the middle of the property in order to get in a circular part. When there is not much going on, we could hear somebody whispering of the very end of the opposite side, must be nice.

Below picture gives an impression of how the train system in China is. It is very well advanced compared to what I know in Europe and the organization is excellent. We have a lot to learn from the Chinese Railsystem in terms of efficiency, security, advanced seat reservation and so on.

We took the train to get to Pingyao which was our next stage of the trip.

This blog is quite short as I wanted to give a priority to the pictures. However, there is as usual a question for you ;-)

Question of the day:

  • What are the particularities of the Chinese Railroadsystem?

I hope you enjoyed this one and stay tuned for impressions from other Chinese towns.

Yours
