in travel •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hey Friends,

148 comersee (3).JPG

as we started our Journey in:
Chapter One by building my little Campervan and safe Haven in the world,
started my Europe-Tour in Chapter Two with Luxemburg,
traveled on to the wonderful Belgium in Chapter Three & Chapter Four,
we are now straying further north to discover:

📌 The Netherlands

My Favourite Roadmap of the Netherlands:

  • Breda
  • Leiden
  • Gouda
  • Amsterdam
  • Haarlem
  • Alkmaar
  • Groningen
  • Utrecht
  • Eindhoven
  • Maastrich

I visited all Cities above 100k inhabitants, but only providing my favourites to you!
From now on Tips, Must-Sees or just my everyday busking life.

Breda (1).JPG
Breda a cozy little City with lots of Students and History to offer. Here a piece of the Castle thats completely surrounded by water :)

Breda (2).JPG
The "Grote Kerke" what means "Great Church" is just one of Bredas sights.

Breda (3).JPG
seems like the most causal thing to do in Bredas Park, where i caught our friend on his morning walk/flight :p

Leiden.JPG
Leiden, known for its "Grachten" (Canals) is a really small but all the more picturesque and original dutch City.

leiden 2.jpg
The Center of Leiden is 50% divided in water and ground-streets <3

Gouda (2).JPG
This is where the Gouda Cheese is from: Gouda! Totally fell for those Girls looking like the Smurfs <3

Gouda (3).JPG
Theres really a huge tradition the Dutch are having with there beloved Cheese. Weekly the People of Gouda are hosting an event that reconstructs a historical market day. All the people shouting there deals, trying to get there cheese to the best conditions. Tapping on the cheese to get its ripeness-stat is also part of the procedure (: Make sure to visit Gouda during one of these market-days.

Gouda (1).JPG
Is there anybody that could resist? :p

Amstserdam (2).JPG
Guess most of the people know about the capital of the Netherlands: Amsterdam.

Amstserdam (3).JPG
and i keep on guessing, that mostly things like pot or weed pops up to their minds, by thinking of amsterdam.

Amstserdam (6).JPG
its true that various different drugs that are forbidden in the rest of the European Countries are legal to buy in Amsterdam.

Amstserdam (5).JPG
The Menu of "The Green House" :D

Amstserdam (4).JPG
On of the best known Coffeeshop in Amsterdam is the Bulldog, where you can actually get real coffee and food or just do what 99% of the customers are doing: smoking a joint 💨

amsterdam 2 (2).JPG
This is a typcial picture of Amsterdam. There are mostly small Alleys. And as you enter one with lots of shopwindows, dont be suprised if one of the sparsely dressed Window Dummys starts blinking at you. Amsterdam has a huge Redlight-District.

amsterdam kirche (2).JPG
In a sinfull city like Amsterdam a Church is maybe badly in need? ^^

amsterdam kirche (3).JPG
I personally got a lot of faith if its one religion itself im not really sure about - but i love big religious buildings to get refueled with a lot of faith and confidence <3

amsterdam kirche (1).JPG
yeeeezuz... St. Nikolaus Basilica looking gorgeous! :p

Amstserdam (1).JPG
had some really funny hours playing in the streets with tons of disinhibited peps

amsterdam 2 (1).JPG
In Amsterdam you definitely wont lack of new crazy friends to make. In my case my first friend of Kuwait and also a Songwriter Taymour Khajah (click for Soundcloud) (:

Recorded Jamsession of Columbian Friends and me in a Coffeeshop :)

Nice post. Overwhelming, but very interesting. As I told you before, you might be better off splitting the material. People have a short attention span.

Another suggestion: Music tends to pull in upvotes. Set the tone by putting the YouTube video FIRST in your post and set it apart with a horizontal rule. You can headline it with "Tune of the Day" or "Soundtrack for Today's Post". Try, this might be just the ticket for you! Don't bury your music under all the other material.

Best of luck - Folker

thanks folker :)
really try to stick to your tips,
the only thing - i dont want people just to klick for my pasts for 1 image or so.
I try to make not tooo much posts, so that its like a chapter - as i wrote :)
greets to you

Hey, you must try and find your format. I'm just telling you how I feel about it.

It doesn't have to be "1 image", and if so, it should have a little text at least. But it doesn't have to be dozens, either. For the Netherlands, you could have one post per city, for example. As a musician, it should be no problem for you to film yourself doing one of the hundreds of songs you must know. Nothing fancy, smartphone on a stand, and go... I'm sure you have more songs in your head than countries to travel in Europe, right?

Remember, as you grow, so do your post rewards. Don't blow it all on those low dollar first months. Just enough to be interesting for potential followers. Think about it!

Wirklich super Tipps!

Lesen!

I do agree. I started out making really long video episodes in Season 1 of About Wings, but changed it to shorter videos, since I noticed that most people want a more personal and short format.

Also, splitting posts can help to gain more attention. Especially on a page like Steemit...

Okay, I can't help but wonder: Are you posting semi-live?
Cause I imagine the weather up there to be severely worse than here in Austria with our -9°C...

And from experience I know, minus degrees are no fun business in a Camper (if you don't have heating)...

You are totally right. By now we are semi-live and i share my experience so far on my world tour - just like a little diary :)
Second Point your also right, i almost froze over night in finland without any heating. literally got iceicles :))

haha, I figured. I'm filling my account with my old journey atm, too. Hopefully there will be more up-to-date content soon, if we manage to hop on the van again!

Oh shite. Finland in those temperatures? You've got all my respect. Make sure to stay safe, though!
