When someone searches for some cool surfing destinations in the Philippines, you'd surely put Siargao on that list. So, when my friends and I booked a trip to Siargao, we all agreed to try out surfing and experience the adrenaline rush.
We decided to take the splurge in the morning of our second day. We were so stoked, but our excitement fade out in one full swoop when we discovered that it was low tide. How's that? Haha! So, we learned our lesson: "if you want to go surfing, never fail to check when the high tide comes".
Much to our dismay, we went somewhere else (that would be another story to tell) to conserve our time and came back to Cloud 9 to do what we aimed to do -- surf!
Henceforth, in the afternoon, we finally achieved our goal. I failed to document a proof of how I braved the waves in Cloud 9, but I could assure you it was one for the books. Surfing isn't as easy as I thought. It couldn't be mastered overnight, but I would commend myself for being able to stand up on the surfing board for a few seconds. I felt an unusual joy while I slowly got up on the board while being swayed by the waves. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to hold my balance so I fell off in a matter of seconds. That was enough for me at that moment. But I told myself that I would try it again when I get the chance to visit another dope surfing destination.
