A symbol of brotherhood and friendship — Istanbul Park in Odessa

May 26, 2017. In Odessa, there is another great Park – Istanbul. This Park became a symbol of twenty years of friendship between South Palmyra and Constantinople. Two historic town on the shores of the Black sea Odessa and Istanbul (Istanbul) are similar not only beautiful architecture, but also multi-ethnic population.

At the opening of the Istanbul Park was attended by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and a delegation from Turkey. The delegation was headed by the then mayor of Istanbul KadirTopbaş. All work on the restoration of the Park carried out by Turkish partners. At the entrance to the Duma square was a monument, a symbol of strong friendship and the interweaving of cultures of the two peoples.

The Park was decorated with enormous lettering the names of the cities — this is another fact of the excellent relations between Ukraine and Turkey.

The vastness of the Park consists of walking paths and many benches. Made a Park in the Turkish style. A small fountain installed in the center of the Park. Here you can enjoy drinking water.

A Hiking trail with fitness area and playgrounds for children is a wonderful addition to a comfortable pastime.

At Istanbul Park, was planted a great many flowers, shrubs and trees, which makes it aesthetically very attractive.

In the center of the Park there is an artificial grotto made of stone-savage, built in the 1890s. This grotto was used as drainage for the monument of Pushkin. Over time it has become a small attraction Park, water installation was disabled. Now it has been completely restored, and the grotto began a new and beautiful life.

Different was the relationship of Istanbul with Odessa, but for 20 years our cities have worked closely in different directions.
