The history of the city of Kotovsk quite versatile. The city was able to overcome many difficulties and troubles. Here are buried the heroic individuals who entered the history of our people. Recently I was told about G. I. Kotovsky. Today I'll tell you about another military commander, whose remains rest in the city.
Tarasov Herman Fedorovich
This heroic man was born 16 March 1906 Birthplace is Tobolsk province, S. Mokrousovo. He has Polish roots. His grandfather was a Polish revolutionary, who was exiled to Tobolsk. My mother worked as an ordinary teacher in a rural school.
In 1923 he graduated from high school and the Komsomol, arrived in Ulyanovsk infantry school. Study was given to him quite easily. Oddly enough, but the sources are silent, when he graduated from high school. Basically, all indicate that he was in the Soviet Army in 1925. Although, as we see in this period he still had to study at the infantry school. Most likely he was the commander of the training corps, it automatically allows you to assume that he entered the military service.
His primary military career begins in 1927, when he began to serve in the frontier troops. At the same time, he continued to study at the infantry school, command staff them. Lenin. He finished only in 1931.
Immediately after graduation, he went to the Academy. Frunze, where he graduated in 1937. A military career was rapid. For three years he was able to rise to the rank of chief of the Transbaikal border detachment. In a post he joined in 1940.
When the War began, he took command of infantry division and went to the front. During the war he happened to be in different parts and joints.
In 1941 he commanded the operations group, which was part of the 39th army. But in January 1942 he led 249 rifle division, which fought on the North-Zapadnom and Kalinin fronts.
After that, until 5 January 1944, he commanded: 41, 70, 24, and 53rd armies. From January 1944 he held the position of Deputy commander of the 53rd army. That is, as a part of 53rd army, he liberated my home town of Kotovsk.
Died in Hungary during the liberation of the city of Kisujszallas. He died a hero's death on October 19. Buried in the city of Kotovsk (Podolsk). The monument to the hero of the Soviet Union, located near the mausoleum of G. I. Kotovsky. The monument consists of 3 parts. Close by is a monument Samborska Vasily Filippovich.
