Living in a Van

Lets talk about power. We so take it for granted. We walk in our house turn on the light with a flick if a switch. Fire up the oven for dinner and blow dry our hair while it is cooking.

Life in a van is much different. I live in a Roadtrek so I have some of the same comforts. When I am plugged in my power is endless. When I am not I run on 12 volts. I have no generator. So if it can not run on 12 volts it is not running. I do have an inverter but that only helps with charging small items and not too many at a time. I am constantly on the lookout for appliances and things that require next to no power. I found a battery operated mixer for smoothies, a 12 volt oven that works really well.

Livin in a van....needs and wants...there is a large difference. So the next time you use your blower dryer remember that is just a want! :)
