During our visit of Emona (old Roman name for the city of Ljubljana) we walked by the ancient wall that was surrounding the city. Through time the city expanded way beyond that wall as it became more populated.

The wall has to be restored and some parts were added, like the pyramid you can see on photos above and below.

These remains represent the old heritage upon which Europeans continued to built today’s society on. I am glad the wall has not been demolished but stands as an embedded part of the city.

We didn’t take any official guided walking tours in Ljubljana as we know the city fairly well. Okay Sometimes I think I should learn more about it from someone with deeper historical knowledge. Next time I guess 😁
