San Cristobal is one of the magic towns in Mexico. It is in the mountains 2,2 km above sea level which makes it a good place to live. The days are nicely warm and nights are perfectly fine for sleeping.
I stayed there for four weeks and had a really good time.
I worked at a hostel as a volunteer for bed and breakfast and lunch. So this was a really good opportunity to save money while travelling. Mostly my duties were assisting in the reception and taking night shifts. The night shifts were the best ones because usually, I got a few hours sleep and I had only three shifts per week and four days off. But some weeks I had only three days off because I had only one night shift and three-day shifts.
Free walking tour.
There is a free walking tour every day at 10 am and 5 pm. I really recommend going there because you get to know a lot about history and the current situation. There are at least three different tour guides and each of them take you a little bit different places.
The town itself is beautiful and clean. People are easy going and helpful but in most cases, you have to speak Spanish.
