Why live in a Car?

The fundamental thing of our journey was to own a car which we could sell again before leaving. Our plan was to see as much as possible of nz's nature and landscape on both islands. This means that you will often drive and stay in pretty remote places. Ofcours hitchhiking is an option but in my opinion its more suitable for people who travel alone and dont stay and work in a country for over 8 month like we did. For us it was pretty obvious that we needed an own car so we could be flexible at every time without planning to much in advance.
On of the biggest advantages is probably also the finacial aspect: having a car meant for us having a mobile home. We both couldnt afford living in a flat or in hostels and owning a car at the same time so we had no other choice than sleeping in the same thing that brought us through the country. Easy ayy?
